The Pressure To Conform

Peer pressure is the influence of you classmates, which makes you want to act, look, and sound like them and eveyone else. My friends and I don't really want to be like everyone else, but some of my other friends want to look and dress like high schoolers. Peer pressure doesn't really affect me, because I am not very different from others, and I don't really have to change myself to fit in. I do care about what others think of me, of course, but everyone does, and caring about what others think doesn't mean it's because you want to fit in. Do I go along with the crowd even though I know what they are doing is wrong? Well, I'd just tell them it's not really a good idea, and if they don't listen, I just ignore them, I don't go along with them. Do I do things just because my friends do them, not because I really want to? Sometimes, it really depends on which one of my friends is doing it, but I usuall do it because I don't want everyone to hate me or talk behind my back. Do I do "popular" of "unpopular" things? Yeah. Popular things are mostly just whatever everyone else does, and I definitely do them. The most unpopular thing I did was probably just hanging out with someone when he/she is "temporarily hated by everone else". I think going along with the crowd is fine with me. I think I go along better with friends who go his/her own way, I don't like faking smiles and lying just to sound polite (that what popular girls do anyways). Do I say "No!" so my peers if they give me a choice that I know is unwise or wrong? Yes, but I say it mildly, likke "nah, I'm good", or "um, I don't wanna get caught". I don't act umcomfortably just to be accepted, I don't really care. What I do either fits in or doesn't, so what? My voice definitely has more control over me, not my peers. I would say no to the man with the red eyes, I don't want to be controlled.
